Prerequisites

AZ-140 Prerequisites

Microsoft’s current audience profile expects practical Azure and desktop-management experience rather than treating AZ-140 as a first cloud course. Useful preparation includes Azure compute, networking, identity, storage and resiliency, plus experience managing Windows desktop environments and delivering applications.

AZ-104 is not listed as a mandatory prerequisite, but Azure Administrator-level knowledge is useful preparation. If you are new to cloud administration, build the fundamentals and hands-on Azure experience before specializing in Azure Virtual Desktop.

  • Create an update/backup/DR checklist
  • Clean up test resources to prevent unnecessary Azure charges
Applied scenario

Practical AZ-140 Project

Project Scenario

A small organization needs a secure Azure Virtual Desktop service for a pilot group. The learner documents requirements, selects the host-pool model, plans VM sizing, configures a test deployment, publishes an application, tests profile persistence and troubleshoots a simulated connection or profile problem.

Expected Evidence

Architecture diagram, host-pool decision note, user-access matrix, FSLogix configuration summary, troubleshooting record and resource-cleanup checklist. Use only anonymized/non-production evidence.
